The Making of Home

The aim of this project was to develop a conceptual proposal for an extension to County House. Through a series of quotes, collages, and concept models, a central idea of connection was established. This concept was then combined with the site strategy to form a coherent design approach. An architectural connection to the surrounding context was also achieved by incorporating styles and elements from neighbouring buildings, creating an identity that is both unique and responsive to the existing site. The project then progressed into massing and modelling, which were analysed to ensure appropriate levels of ventilation and natural lighting. Following this, floor plans were developed in alignment with the overarching concept, and the design was further communicated through elevations, sections, and visualisations.
